LO2: Planning a photo-shoot

This is a plan for the photo-shoot which I shall be doing in the college next week. I'm doing this so that I can get a good idea of how to set up a shoot aswell as an outline of some of the shots I might take later on.

For the most part I won't really be taking advantage of the space because I will be using a lot of close-up shots. This is so that I can get a clear idea of what I want my close-up shots to look like. I may however take other full body shots so that I have some reference photographs when taking my final images.

Whilst this doesn't directly relate to the brief or my theme, a lot of the images content are likely to correspond with that in my final images. As previously stated I am only taking these images to get a clear idea of how to do a photo shoot so there accuracy to the brief is not much of a priority.

I do still want to get a feeling of abnormality in the pieces however and I think this shall mostly be done through the expressions of the models in my photographs.

The equipment I shall be using will be:
  • A Canon 650d DSLR camera
  • Lights.
  • Standard Lense
  • Wide Angle Lense
  • Fish Eye Lense

I think I'm going to try and take a lot of really dark photos, but I may experiment with lighting to create eary glows and it is likely that I will take very bright pictures as well.

The camera will be in manual mode, this is so I can manually focus on the subject and make sure that the image looks exactly how I want to before taking it.

I shall mostly be using a shutter speed of 1/125 because I just want to take still images. However, I may also experiment with shutter speeds between 1/300 and 1/500 to capture some motion blurs as I will also be experimenting with this slightly in my final images.

For most of my images, as previously stated, I want my pictures to be quite dark so because of that I will be using an ISO of 100. When taking some brighter images I may rase the ISO slightly but I don't want to do this too much as I think it can affect the quality of the image.

I won't be using the flash feature at all because I think this greatly effects the quality of the image and will make it much lighter than I want it to be.

The files shall be saved as JPEG so that they can be easily compressed, stored and later edited. All images will also be backed up to Google Drive aswell as the Apple Mac so that I have multiple copies in case of any file damage that may occur.
